Curriculum Rationale

Here at The Leap, the staff are committed and passionate about supporting and assisting change for our young people. Through observing and listening to our young people and their families, we are able to develop a personalised curriculum which offers our children the support and boundaries they need in order to make holistic progress.

We also build and progress each individuals’ learning within core subjects; Reading, Writing (including weekly SALT lessons), Maths, Science and PSHE.

We build positive relationships and model appropriate behaviour. We encourage and promote learning by using a positive reward system and promote appropriate behaviour throughout our school day. The wellbeing and safeguarding of all of our children is paramount at all times.

We are supporting our children to be independent thinkers, learners and great citizens by helping them to be the best version of themselves and have aspirations for their future.

We offer a creative and flexible curriculum that not only progresses pupils learning within core subjects but also offers a variety of opportunities to shape and increase each child’s confidence, self-esteem and resilience through extra-curricular activities and outdoor learning.
